Vampire vs. Jedi = Pillow Talk?

 - by Meghan Wood

Sooooo… I have to share this little moment in my life as while I now find it VERY comical, during this heated conversation I got quite upset. As many of you know (and if you don’t by now, I have a little OBSESSION with vampires! LOL. Ok, yes..I know… so does everyone else. But I seem to think that my obsession is different; somehow special. Edward and I are getting married…however I also have a new found love for both Salvatore brothers (Vampire Diaries)! I actually looked online recently to see if The Vampire Diaries were having casting calls as I felt I am perfect for the show. I had my roll all scripted out and everything. I cannot share that in case I do get on the show and we need to use that material! HAHA! Last but not least… let’s not forget True Blood. Basically I just want to become a vampire (the Hollywood version… not the ones I have researched online….uhh yeah, I’ll admit it…. I spent some time online looking around! LOL). So let’s get to this story already..

I was laying in bed with John and look over at him and say something along the lines that if I were “turned” into a vampire would he want me to turn him too. I expected him to say yes. Without any hesitation he says NO! I was completely shocked and immediately asked what, why not, are you crazy!? We went back and forth for a few minutes about it. I said I would turn him anyhow. He would not have a choice. I would sneak up on him and turn him (oh…. I would be able to walk in the day light too.. and not sparkle… that is kind of annoying). He then tried to tell me he would fight me off. I laugh. How can one fight off a vampire. With a dead serious face he looks at me and says “I’m a Jedi”. WHAT!!! Are you for real!…. wait it gets better… Then I sit up… look right back at him…. I am actually upset right now. I say “John, I’m trying to have a serious conversation. Jedi are not real.” Yup… that is right! You heard me correctly! He burst out laughing. He repeats what I said in a sarcastic tone and then says… really? Vampires are not real either. I obviously have another great line… “they are more real than Jedi. They are basically biblical. They are ancient. Jedi were created in the 70′s.” And while I can see how dumb my comments are now as I type them… I still was sticking to my ground! We actually had a 20 minute conversation after that on who would win a fight between a vampire and a Jedi! (wow… that is a dorky thing to do).

So, as you can see, I seem to believe that “Hollywood” vampires are real. To make matters worse… I actually spent like 10 minutes the next day talking to John about a Jedi vampire. HAHAHA! Think about it… this could be George Lucas’ chance to win the Academy Award.

Just think about it…..

The Jedi Vampire!

Brittany’s Day – Community Fundraiser

 - by Meghan Wood

Over the past few months I have helped organize and will be volunteering for a fundraiser to support a very special girl.  Long story short Brittany has spent the past 5 years dealing with seizures, ulcers, blood clots, allergic reactions to the antibiotics and pills upward of 27 a day, anemia, kidney issues, gastroenterologists, cardiologists, gastric bypass, pancreatitis, extended hospital stays… and the list goes on yet the doctors still do not have an answer to what is causing all of this.

My friend, Charlie Espinosa, asked Brittany and her family to join his martial arts studio West Coast Martial Arts as a way to help deal with this stress, surround them with positive people and truly give Brittany an avenue where she could thrive.

As you can imagine the medical bills are pouring in. There is no end in site for the treatments to stop, so help is needed. Brittany’s Day is an opportunity to bring the community together and help a girl in need…even if it is one step at a time.

Brittany is an amazing girl who continues to fight daily… and I’m am excited to be a small part of that fight!

XOXO,

Meghan

Bang Bang…

Bang Bang…

Some bad mamajamas (thank you Jennifer Klein for that one!!)

So I have never in my life shot a gun before…(unless you count a water gun) and my friend Steve felt it was time to learn how. I have to say I was a bit excited. Let me point out that he was super adamant about us knowing what we were doing and being safe. I got to shoot a rifle, a shot gun and a hand gun (obviously). I even hit the clay they launched in the air on my first try. Ohhhh! SNAP! I have to say, if we get attacked by zombies, you might want to be on my side. ;-)

At the end of the day he let me shoot two at the same time…. like a “gangsta”. LOL!

Napa or Bust

 - by Meghan Wood

Liza (my most amazing sister) and her wonderful boyfriend Matt gave us all a wine tasting trip to Napa for Christmas this past year. Well…. we all wanted to wait until the weather was a bit warmer to go…. and this past weekend was perfect. We all meet up at the Oakville Grocery Co to stock up on sandos and other yummies for a picnic later that afternoon. We were lucky to have Matt’s sister join us (Sarah) while her husband was off enjoying the Masters Golf Tournament. ROUGH LIFE HUH??

Once we caused enough of a ructious we headed out to Cuvaison Estate Wines in Napa. We had a private tasting room overlooking the vineyards… it was absolutely beautiful (a must visit if you are in the area)! Long story short we had a blast! Thank you Matt & Liza for a rockin’ X-mas gift… Triple ‘X’ Santa was proud! HAHAHA! ;)   (you all will have to ask about the Triple ‘X” Santa story… it is a good one).

Lot’s of love!!!

OK… WTF? Did I fall off earth? No! So what is my excuse for going MIA for so long? I am so sorry… let me just start there. :( Really! I am. But… the good news is I was doing really fun things that will bring lots of enjoyment to you!
I was off working on building a real life podcast. Yup… a podcast. (and for those of you who do not know what a podcast is… there are a few out there.. it is like a radio show that you can listen to online). Read this article »

Valentine’s Day Hike

 - by Meghan Wood

I have to say I had one of the best Valentine’s Days ever yesterday. Our friend Steve had a great idea to take advantage of the beautiful day and go on a hike. So we did what any normal hikers would do…packed some wine, cheese, and crackers and ventured to Hidden Falls Park for a half day of fun. It was not long into the hike that I was notified that if we were to get lost I would be the first one to be eaten as I was definitely the most tasty of the bunch. I was not too happy about that!! HAHA! I had eaten a bad of Salsa Verde Doritos on the way up and the boys kept telling me that they were marinade chips… so they would be eating Mexican later. Boys are so weird.

Overall, the hike was great and the views were amazing! I highly recommend going to Hidden Falls in Auburn, CA if you can. You will not regret it.

Shih Tzu Beach

 - by Meghan Wood

Just a quick post debuting Steve’s epic picture of 2010. It was a great idea to jump off this rock. Sierra and I were in full agreement to do it. Let me just tell you… I think I shrank at least 2 inches after the landing. IT HURT! So… thank god the picture turned out pretty cool… so..here you have it! Steve’s EPIC PICTURE OF 2010.

We took the dogs (Wicket and Rig’s) for a quick beach visit before the Superbowl. We could not get over how much they loved the ocean so we officially renamed the beach “Shih Tzu Beach”. Plan on seeing more pictures and videos in the near future from Shih Tzu beach. :)

Baskin Robbins Cake

 - by Meghan Wood

Happy birthday to me!! This was suppose to be a Christmas party, but when I showed up, there was a sign on the door that said Christmas was canceled. I had a feeling something was up… I opened my friend’s door to find the next sign that read “Merry Meghan-mas”.  Surprise…. it was my birthday party!!!! Not only did my friends surprise me with a super rad Merry Meghan-mas birthday party they got me an ice cream cake….my FAVORITE!!!!! I became a little preoccupied with telling John (camera man) that it was too loud to shoot me telling the camera how awesome my cake was that…. well…. you’ll see…. (Oh…it went up my nose…not fun!)…and yes…I forgot the ‘e’ on bite…oh well! LOL
