Happy Birthday Surprise
- by Meghan Wood
So I was told about a month in advance by my dear friend Jen that I should plan on being ready to do “something” around 4 pm on the day of my birthday yet I was not told what something was. Keep in mind that my birthday is December 22 and it being so close to the holidays, any chance of planning a birthday party are out of the question. I had been telling everyone that we would plan something after the first of the year.
The 22nd of December arrives and I still have no idea what is in store for me. I go to work (dressed in relatively comfy clothes as I was told
) and am greeted with an amazing assortment of balloons and a wonderful card from my AWESOME OFFICE! Great way to start the day. So fast forward now (as my day at work rocked) to 3:30. Jen arrives and makes me tie my scarf around my head so I cannot see and get in her car. I’M BLINDFOLDED?
This was not part of the plan but I am going along with it. I’m thinking we are going to get a massage.. maybe go on a hike and get dinner? I have no idea!!!
We drive around a bit and since I have no sense of direction with my eyes open I have no idea where we are going. The car stops and all I can smell is tamales. I instantly think we are at Denaios. I am not sure what we would be doing there but I was sure she has a plan. LOL. I hear rustling in the truck of her car and hope to god she is not going to put me in there. A few minutes go by and I am told I can get out. I get out of her car and realize I am at the Fountains in Roseville and in front of me is a HUGE white stretch hummer limo full of a bunch of my friends ready to go ICE SKATING!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes… you read that right… ICE SKATING! As a kid I had the best ice skating birthday parties and it was time to do it up again. I was completely shocked and surprised. I honestly had no idea. I wish I could even put to words how grateful I am for each and every one of my friends. I truly had the best night. Not only did we ice skate and eat pizza but we went on a Christmas light viewing adventure as well. It was a perfect birthday adventure and I am so thankful to have such loving people in my life!!
Happy 29 & 36 months to me!!!!
(sorry about the quality of this video… a friend shot it quickly from his 1992 Zack Morris phone)

A-List Blogger Results Are In
- by Meghan Wood
Well… I am a little sad to say I did not bring home 1st place in the 2011 KCRA 3 A-List contest as one of the best “Local Blogger“. However, I guess I am not too upset as there were 63 nominees and I did come in 11th…. AND… I do kind of suck as posting regularly. Heck, I am suppose to be vlogging and I have been way off my game there. (but I have been videoing… just not posting… so more to come! PROMISE!)
Anyhow, I just want to thank all of you who did vote. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of you. Honestly, you know how much The Meghan Show means to me and I truly could not than you enough. You all mean the world to me.
XOXOXO, ♥

Need Your Vote – Best Local Blogger
- by Meghan Wood
Ok… this was a big ol’ shock to me… I somehow, someway was nominated for the 2011 KCRA 3 A-List as one of the best “Local Blogger“. Seriously… I kinda wanted to cry I was so excited… and then I wanted to cry b/c I was a little embarrassed as most of you know I am always saying I need to post more regularly (which I can say I have been working on some awesome videos with a few friends soon to be released).
So…. with that said I am asking you if you would PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote for me for me. This unexpected amazing nomination has giving me a little pep in my step to get my game face and entertain the heck out of you.
Thank you all in advance… BIG HUGS and NOW… GO VOTE (link below).

It just so happens that I was lucky enough to be selected as an “IMAX Tweviewer” for The Esquire IMAX Theatre in Sacramento. I obviously had to video the little excursion! LOL
Big hugs and thank you to Esquire IMAX for the opportunity to be one of your Tweviewers and I am soooo excited to be an IMAX regular.

The Contest Night to Remember
- by Meghan Wood
(Yes, I know my name is spelled wrong below in the video…Steven, you’re killing me?!!
)
Our night began with a knock on the door from our limo driver…THANK GOD we were actually ready… the girls that is. As you can see in the beginning of the video I gave a little shout of to all of the AMAZING people that made the night possible. Well, my brain works way way way faster than my mouth… I think that is why I talk so fast. I totally did not realize I jumbled up the words my first go around. Well…after that I kept making everyone count down and then say “action” before I started talking…which would just make me laugh. It is actually making me laugh right now thinking about it…. which is weird because I’m home alone and now I feel like a big dork! HAHAH! Back on track here…. The whole night honestly was nothing but laughs. From my door step to Morton’s Steakhouse I think I scared everyone by attempting to rap like T-Pain (you’ll see that in the video but thankfully not be able to hear me! I thought I rocked “I’m on a boat” with the help of T-Pain iPhone app. Just as I was diving in to my story about how I named my Roomba vacuum Chuy after Chelsea Handler’s little Nugget (yes… I love Chelsea Handler) we arrived at Morton’s where we had one of the best dinners ever. Our server was the cutest most attentive girl and could not have been nicer. The Manager even gave us deserts to go… (HUGE BONUS POINTS IN MY BOOK…as I ate those late night)! Once we got to Sacramento Punchline we were escorted past a long line of people that wrapped around the corner and right to the entrance door and taken to our VIP seats. Honestly… it was non stop fun where the night kept getting better and better!
I (and I know I speak for all of us) again would like to give a big thank you to SacramentoComedy.Com, Morton’s Steakhouse, and the Sacramento Punchline. It truly was A Night to Remember and one I (we) will never forget.
PS: We would be happy to go again any time… I’m sure I can round up a group of fun friends! HEHEHEHE.
SacTweetUp Scavenger Hunt.. GREEN TEAM in the HOUSE!
- by Meghan Wood
SacTweetUp hosted it’s first ever scavenger hunt…. and what a HUNT it WAS!!!! The Green Team (us) went to a million different places and ROCKED them all! Our name “COLD HARD GREEN” was echoed throughout Sac by the end of the night. We were given clues on where to go (each team was driven around in a limo…talk about STYLE!) and had to tweet twitpics back to the judges. While we did not win the contest, we all had a blast and I cannot wait for round two!
