Yet they get permanent unrepairable damage from sunlight, unless they drink blood and lots of it. There would be little reason for a Vampire to worry about a sword or a rifle ... but a lightsaber is of light. A Vampire would receive unrepairable damage from these weapons and possibly decapitation. In fact it would be cruel. A real Jedi focuses on disarming rather than killing. A common target is the hand. A target on a vampire would be the fangs. A Vampire would have to rely on its speed .... which a Jedi can match. The end result would be a not so happy Vampire relying on prepackaged blood pudding. The Jedi and the Vampire would cancel each other out trying to use their powers of persuasion both being immune to it. A Jedi would sense a Vampire sneaking up, in fact a Vampire is probably considered a "walking disturbance in the Force". A Jedi would be considered a sell out if they were to turn .... to the Dark Side. At hand to hand combat, a Vampire could have a better chance, but Jedi are considered to be the most formidable martial artists in their Galaxy. A Vampire for arguments sake could have practiced a myriad of martial arts for thousands of years, but all those arts are still from a single planet, unlike the arts and sciences of the Jedi which are of their entire Galaxy. If you don't believe me just take a day off of work one day and visit the Jedi Archives. If there ever was a Jedi Vampire, "it" would be hunted down by the other Jedi like a Sith. Lastly yes the Vampires are ancient in respect to human civilizations on Earth. And yes Star Wars was written in the 70's ... but the canon takes place a long, long time ago, in a Galaxy far, far away. Which in lightyears translates to hundreds of thousands if not billions of years. If the Vampires are ancient, then the Jedi are synonymous with the Big Bang. Lastly, lastly ... The Jedi have spaceships with ion cannons. ZHOOOOOOM!!! ps. I had the same EXACT debate with a nice young lady who also watches The Vampire Diaries and whom from just one simple tap kiss I just got a crush on .... which is how I found this article by searching Jedi vs Vampires.
